CoRA Board Nominations

To All Voting Members of AHAND:

AHAND has been selected to appoint one (1) Empowerment Zone Resident to serve on the board of the Atlanta Renewal Community Coordinating Responsible Authority (CoRA).  The CoRA will be responsible for developing and coordinating the approval of a strategic plan that will guide the Renewal Community program recently awarded to the City of Atlanta by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  In addition to its responsibility to ensure that all City and State commitments made in the City's application for RC designation are implemented, the CoRA will also have oversight responsibility for the Title XX funds, formerly connected to its Empowerment Zone designation approved by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

As a trade association of non-profit affordable-housing producers, the ideal candidate to represent AHAND on the CoRA board is an individual with extensive experience with affordable housing, Community Development Corporations, and their unique approach to affordable housing production.  Additionally, AHAND's nominee should not have personal or professional affiliations with organizations or projects seeking to receive funding or tax credits from the Empowerment Zone or Renewal Communities.

Please use the attached form to submit the name(s) of your nominees no later than 7/15/03.
